Living your values makes you healthier

My Wednesday Wish for You: To Live Your Values Out Loud

You likely know the right thing to do. Most of us do. We say we’ll have the hard conversation, step up in the meeting, give the feedback, or set the boundary. But research shows something surprising: we are 3X more likely to say we’ll act in alignment with our values than to actually follow through, and when the moment is right in front of us, we are 10X more likely to freeze or back away.

Why does that matter?

Because the mental space you use avoiding action, second-guessing, replaying scenarios, or waiting for the “right moment”, is exhausting. And here’s the kicker: when you do take the action, how often do you say, “I should’ve done that a long time ago”?

There’s more. Studies show that leaders who consistently live their values, who actually do what they say they value, not only enjoy better personal well-being, but their people benefit too. Teams experience less stress, lower turnover, greater engagement, and even higher performance.

So this week, don’t just talk about what you value. Act on it. Your integrity matters. Your team is watching. And your future self will thank you.

My wish for you is that you stop carrying the weight of hesitation and step fully into action. Live your values. You’ll be better for it, and so will everyone around you.
