Does your organization have what it takes?
Provide Feedback to Thrive
I’ve been thinking a lot about feedback lately. Too often, I see leaders who don’t address performance issues directly—they just “tolerate” until they’re ready to replace someone. On the flip side, I see employees who quietly endure poor leadership—yelling, blaming, or lack of direction—until they’ve had enough and walk away.
Here’s the truth: both are a waste.
Feedback is supposed to be a two-way street. Employers have a responsibility to help employees succeed with clear, constructive guidance. Employees have a responsibility to share when a supervisor’s behavior is making it harder to thrive.
Tolerating isn’t the same as solving. In fact, it usually makes things worse.
What about you? Are the folks in your organization able to hear feedback and actually do something with it? Before you answer, check with some of your team. If you say no, who do you need to have a conversation with?
My wish this week is that more organizations foster cultures where people not only give feedback but also receive it well and act on it, regardless of their position.
