Consistency

My Wednesday Wish for You: Consistency

A colleague of mine just won a boxing match. Another finished an Ironman. Neither of them accomplished that by just showing up on game day. Their success was built in the quiet, during early mornings, long runs, disciplined nutrition, and endless repetition. They did the hard work when no one was watching, so they could stand in the spotlight when it mattered.

I think about that often as I approach the finish line of my PhD. Crossing the stage will be a beautiful moment, but the real work happened in the unseen hours, late nights, weekends, vacations, and in between meetings. That’s where success is forged.

Leadership works the same way. Consistency builds trust. When your team knows what to expect from you, how you’ll respond, how you’ll lead, how you’ll show up, they’ll follow you even when the path changes. It’s not the grand gestures that define leadership; it’s the steady, reliable rhythm of integrity, follow-through, and presence.

Where in your leadership do you need to add more consistency? And where do you already have it, where has it quietly shaped your success? Take a moment to notice and celebrate those patterns.

My Wednesday Wish for you is a boring routine that makes you limitless.
