Intentional Growth
We talk often about stretching and growing in our leadership, but true growth doesn’t happen by accident—it happens when we’re intentional. While reading articles or picking up tips along the way is helpful, scheduling time to step away from your routine and immerse yourself in new ideas is what really accelerates growth.
Professional development is more than just “checking a box.” Attending a conference, signing up for a seminar, or joining a learning cohort gives you more than content—it opens doors to new tools, fresh perspectives, and connections outside of your usual circles of influence. These opportunities can challenge your assumptions, spark creativity, and give you energy for the work ahead.
Here’s the key: it won’t happen if you don’t plan for it. Now is the perfect time to think about next year. What’s in your budget? What’s on your calendar? If you don’t set aside the resources—time, money, and focus—it’s easy to let another year slip by without investing in
yourself.
When you intentionally seek out growth, you’re not just adding knowledge; you’re expanding your capacity. A new perspective might help you solve a problem that’s been sitting on your desk for months. A new tool could save hours of frustration. A new connection might become the partner who helps you take your vision further than you thought possible.
My wish for you this week is to plan with intention. Invest in yourself. Schedule the learning that will help you step into next year with new ideas, fresh energy, and expanded capacity.
